Our Doctors
Dr. Melanie Wendt
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Melanie Wendt joined the team on July 2, 2025, bringing with her a deep-rooted passion for animal care that began on her grandmother’s farm while playing with kittens. A 2024 graduate of Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Wendt has experience in both traditional and integrative veterinary medicine and is currently completing her certification in veterinary acupuncture.
She finds the most fulfillment in caring for senior pets—whether helping them age gracefully, adjusting to changes, or providing compassionate end-of-life care. Her goal is to work closely with pet parents to ensure their companions enjoy every stage of life to the fullest.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Wendt enjoys outdoor adventures, cooking, and board games with family and friends. Her loyal dog Cali, a German Shorthair Pointer/Lab mix, is always by her side—ready for any activity or a cozy cuddle.
Dr. Cameron Menard
DVM
Dr. Cameron Menard is a 2019 graduate of Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He has practiced in both rural and urban settings across the Midwest, caring for both large and companion animals. He most recently served as Medical Director of a companion animal practice in West Omaha.
Dr. Menard has a special interest in veterinary dentistry, with advanced training in preventative care, restorative procedures, and oral surgery. His time in large animal practice also fueled a deep passion for surgery. Above all, he values building strong relationships with pet owners to deliver collaborative, high-quality care.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Menard prioritizes time with his growing family. He and his wife welcomed their first child, Gabriel, in 2025. When he’s not at home trying to keep up with his energetic son, you’ll likely find him cheering on the Huskers, volunteering at church, or spending time at his family’s farm near Bennington.
He is also a dedicated pet parent to three cats — Boo, Tripp, and Luca — a variety of freshwater aquarium fish, a colony of Honeybees, and his Australian Shepherd, Bella. Tripp and Luca are beloved foster-fails, each one thriving in their newfound home on just three legs!
